"Everywhere Fun Fair" VBS 2013 - Huge Success!

The children of Faith UCC, St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran, and Williamsville UMC had a wonderful time praising God and learning how to be a good neighbor during our "Everywhere Fun Fair" Vacation Bible School in August. We studied our neighbors from Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, and Zimbabwe through stories, crafts, science and outdoor fun.

Make sure to check out the Thank You Banner from all the children who attended that is hanging outside the church office.

A huge thanks goes out to Barbara Manhardt for all of her planning and hard work. This year we had a lot of wonderful volunteers and behind the scene help - Thank you! Finally, thank you to everyone who brought in donations and prayed for us during our VBS in August.

WUMC is looking forward to hosting VBS next summer. So, watch for information to come out at the beginning of next year about how you can help us have another successful VBS.

Children's Easter Vigil and Egg Hunt - March 2013

On Saturday, March 23, a team of adults led over a dozen children and their families through the scenes of Holy Week. We started in the narthex with a palm parade, shouting "Hosanna" as we followed 'Jesus' into the sanctuary. We then went to an upper room where Pastor Rich led us in sharing Jesus' last supper. We stopped in the garden to see the disciples asleep while Jesus prayed. We followed Jesus to the cross and had a silent prayer. Then Mary Magdalene told us that Jesus is alive! We sang "Long Live God" and told others that Jesus is alive! After our Easter Vigil, it was time to hunt for eggs! We began by teaching the children how eggs symbolize new life. Then it was time for the children to hunt for eggs in the sanctuary! It was a wonderful day! Thank you to everyone who helped and attended! You can see from the pictures below that the kids had a great time. We hope to make this an annual event!
