The ministries of our active and caring Christian community involve many people. In addition to the pastoral staff, our churh is guided by the lay leadership and the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. With more than 182,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 937 churches in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our mission is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."

Within this Conference, Williamsville United Methodist is part of the Niagara Frontier District, along with 80 other United Methodist churches.




 

Council of Bishops

 

Bishops of The United Methodist Church provide spiritual leadership to more than 11 million persons in a broad range of settings on four continents, including North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Historically, bishops preside over Annual and Central Conferences (regional areas of the church). They play an important leadership role in helping to set the direction of the church and its mission throughout the world.
