Master Planning Update from the Trustees

Dear WUMC Members and Friends:

The committee is working toward its goal of presenting a Master Plan for the church buildings and property to the congregation, although we are a little behind schedule. Since surveying the congregation last fall we have hired Architectural Resources, a Buffalo architectural company to help plan different approaches to the improvements members said they want. A few of the projects completed by Architectural Resources include the renovation of Delaware Asbury Methodist Church, the LCo Building on Exchange Street, and has done work for the Nichols School, among other projects. You can visit their website at www.archres.com.

We are working on six areas as part of our overall Master Plan:

  • Long term roof solution over the Narthex and Oakgrove entrance
  • Better elevator service
  • Improve the outside appearance of the church
  • Better use of space and improved traffic flow inside the church
  • More and better parking
  • General spruce-up and redecoration inside

We hoped to have a final report ready for the congregation to consider by the beginning of April, but it is taking a little longer than we thought. However, watch for our results in the next few weeks. Please contact Ed Howard with questions or comments.
