Celebrate Lent and Easter at WUMC
Lent and Easter are a special time at WUMC as we intentionally seek God during this holy season. In the Christian tradition, during the 40 days of Lent we are called to prepare for Easter by experiencing self-examination and penance through study and meditation on God’s Holy Word. Our services during Holy Week help us continue travelling toward Easter and the glorious resurrection that awaits us at the end of our journey. Our Palm Sunday worship service recalls Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem through praise and music provided by the Chancel Choir and WUMC's family of musicians. At our two identical worship services on Easter Sunday, we celebrate Christ’s resurrection, the triumph of life over death. Please join us us as we celebrate!
Christmas Eve Services
On Christmas Eve, we offer several worship services to meet the needs of families of all ages. Our Christmas Before Dusk service that is held in the late afternoon is enjoyed by those who prefer to be home before nightfall. The Children’s Christmas Celebration that begins in the early evening is a joyful celebration filled with traditional Christmas carols. At 10:00 p.m., we have a traditional Christmas Candlelight Service that is a wonderful way to welcome Christmas Day. Other Christmas Eve services may be offered, so please check our Web site this holiday season; then join us in joyous celebration and worship at Christmas.

Puppet Ministry
WUMC has a wonderful collection of puppets that are used for special occasions and holidays throughout the year. The puppets are also used for other ministries such as Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, and nursing home visitation. If you would like to be part of our puppet ministry - being a puppeteer, writing scripts, creating props - please contact Barbara Saltarella to let her know that you would like to be part of this ministry.
Annual Blessing of the Animals
Psalm 104:24-25
(New Living Translation)
O Lord, what a variety of things you have made!
In the wisdom you have made them all.
The earth is full of your creatures.
Here is the ocean, vast and wide,
teeming with life of every kind,
both large and small.

Each fall, a special outdoor service is held for our special animal friends of all kinds. This Blessing of the Animals ceremony is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures - cats, dogs, birds, and other animals loved by your family.
