We are committed to nurturing Christian education and fellowship in our children, youth, and adults. Christian education is a lifelong process of learning, believing, and implementing lessons from Scripture into our lives. We offer Christian education opportunities beginning at age 3 through adulthood.
What does it look like to grow up in the faith?
Here at Williamsville UM Church, youth and children are an important part of church-life. As babies grow, we like to increase their experiences in worship, Kids Connect, and service to God through working with others. Here’s a quick approximation of the timeline of activities to increase spiritual participation in children and youth:
- Birth– 4th grade Kids Connect, a one room school house where children hear Bible stories, engage in crafts/activities to reinforce the Biblical concept, time to socialize and learn through play
- K-4th Kids Choir Meets on Sundays for 20-30mins, Sings during worship approx. 4x’s per year
- 5th & 6th Grade- Worship Enrichment: Children attend worship, during this time they learn parts of worship, the sacraments of communion and baptism
- 7th grade– High School Confirmation Classes typically offered every other year. Classes meet weekly from Feb– May This is a time in a student’s life when they make the choice for themselves to join the United Methodist Church
- Middle School– High School– Weekly Wednesday Night Youth Group
- Additionally, as children move into Middle School and High School, we see them engaging in service activities. Many school districts require service hours and the church is a great way to give back to God and also fulfill their educational requirements.
